Every Atrium vehicle can be remotely prevented from starting. This is the written policy that §18 of your Master Car Rental Agreement refers to. It says when we may use that ability, what has to happen first, and what we will never do with it.
Atrium vehicles are equipped with technology that can remotely prevent the vehicle from starting a new drive. It does not stop, slow, steer, or interfere with a vehicle that is being driven, and it does not lock anyone in or out of a moving vehicle.
As of the effective date of this policy, no automated system immobilizes an Atrium vehicle. There is no rule, script, scheduled job, or payment trigger that disables a car on its own. Every use is a manual decision made by a person, on the record, under this policy.
Remote immobilization may be used only when all of the following are true:
The notice-and-warning steps in section 2 may be shortened or skipped only where Atrium has a reasonable, documented, good-faith belief of a theft in progress, or of an immediate danger to persons or property. Even then, the limits in section 3 still apply in full: the vehicle must still be stationary and unoccupied, and it will never be disabled in motion.
Where this exception is used, the authorizing principal writes a contemporaneous incident log at the time of the decision — what was believed, what it was based on, what was verified, who was contacted (including any law-enforcement report number), and when. The exception cannot be documented after the fact.
Every use of remote immobilization must be authorized in advance by a named principal of EV-Solutions LLC. No employee, contractor, vendor, recovery agent, or automated process may engage it without that authorization.
Each use is logged at the time it happens, and the log records:
You may request a copy of the log entry for your own vehicle by emailing info@driveatrium.com.
If a vehicle has been disabled and you need it for an emergency, call or text (385) 204-4272 at any hour. Atrium will re-enable the vehicle for at least the window stated in your Master Car Rental Agreement — currently a minimum of 24 hours — for a genuine emergency. We do not require you to cure the default first, and we do not require you to explain the emergency in detail.
Immobilization does not by itself recover a vehicle. Any physical recovery is carried out only by a licensed and insured recovery provider, acting lawfully and without breach of the peace. Personal property found in a recovered vehicle is inventoried and returned to you on request.
Questions about this policy go to info@driveatrium.com or (385) 204-4272. If we change it, the version string and effective date at the top of this page change with it, and the policy in force for your rental is the one in effect on the date you signed.
