No Credit Check: How Atrium Approval Works

Banks underwrite loans, so they pull credit. We rent with a refundable deposit, billed weekly with a 1-month minimum term, so we don't need to. Here's exactly how approval works and what you need to get on the road.

What we don't check

No credit checks. No FICO minimums. No co-signer. A rideshare car is a tool for earning, and a credit score from years ago says nothing about whether you'll show up and drive this week.

What we do check

• You're 25 or older with a valid driver's license
• A reasonably clean driving record
• Qualifying auto insurance that meets Utah minimums (required for all renters)
• An active Uber or Lyft driver account

The timeline

The application takes about three minutes online. A real person — not a call center — reviews it and reaches out the same day, and most drivers are approved within 24 hours. The $300 refundable deposit is paid when you sign, and your first week is due at pickup. Pickup happens at our Provo location: bring your license and proof of insurance, and you leave in a Tesla.

Can you rent a car with no deposit?

Not from Atrium. There is no credit check, but there is a $300 refundable deposit. It is paid when you sign, either all at once or as $75 a week for four weeks, and the refundable balance comes back within 14 days of return and final inspection.

If no deposit matters most, there is another option. As of October 1, 2026, Uber's Vehicle Marketplace in Salt Lake City lists Avis rentals that take no refundable deposit. They are open only to drivers Uber has already approved, and two of the three listings require 100 completed Uber trips. Hertz's Uber rentals take a $200 deposit. Atrium rents only to active Uber and Lyft drivers, for a month or more, so if you need a car only for a trip or for personal driving, look elsewhere.

Can you rent a car with a debit card and no credit check?

Not at Atrium. We don't check your credit, but the card on file has to be a credit card. Debit and prepaid cards can't be the card on file. For comparison, as of October 1, 2026, Hertz's Uber driver rentals accept a debit card in your name with no credit check, but not a prepaid card. Avis's Salt Lake listings run a soft credit check if you pay by debit card.

What's included from day one

Every rental includes maintenance and generous mileage — 5,000 miles a month on the Teslas, measured as 1,250 a week, and unlimited rideshare miles on the Camry Hybrid — and every Tesla comes with a 120V home charger. Costs on top of rent include your insurance and your charging: Supercharging is billed weekly at Tesla's rates plus a 10% service fee, and our fleet's measured charging cost averaged $0.089 a mile in August 2026. Rentals are billed weekly with a 1-month minimum term, and the refundable balance of the deposit comes back within 14 days of return and final inspection. One honest caveat

No credit check doesn't mean no standards. We're a local fleet, and we keep it healthy by renting to drivers who treat the cars like the income tools they are. If that's you, approval is the easy part.
