Can I rent a car to drive for Uber and Lyft in Utah?
Yes. Atrium Car Rentals (EV-Solutions LLC) in Provo rents cars specifically for Uber and Lyft driving across Utah — a Tesla Model 3 at $425 a week, a Tesla Model Y at $599 a week, and a Toyota Camry Hybrid at $375 a week arriving October 2026. Rideshare use is explicitly permitted in the rental agreement, there is no credit check, and most drivers are approved within about 24 hours.
Do rental cars allow Uber and Lyft driving?
Most standard rental agreements prohibit rideshare use. Atrium's rental agreement explicitly permits driving for Uber and Lyft — the fleet exists for it. Every rental includes routine maintenance, registration and basic roadside assistance, with 5,000 rideshare miles a month on the Teslas and unlimited rideshare miles on the Camry Hybrid when it arrives.
How much does it cost to rent a Tesla for Uber in Utah?
A Tesla Model 3 is $425 a week and a Model Y is $599 a week; the Toyota Camry Hybrid will be $375 a week when it arrives in October 2026. Weekly rates include routine maintenance, registration, basic roadside assistance and Supercharging network access. You carry your own qualifying auto insurance — or ask about coverage through Atrium's program if your policy doesn't qualify — and charging is billed to you at Tesla rates plus 10%. You put down a $300 refundable deposit and pay a one-off $25 application fee.
What does the weekly rate include?
Every booking includes routine maintenance, registration and basic roadside. The Teslas include 5,000 rideshare miles a month ($0.30 to $0.40 a mile after that); the Toyota Camry Hybrid, arriving October 2026 at $375 a week, will include unlimited rideshare miles. Every car allows 500 personal miles a month. You pay a $25 application fee, a $300 refundable deposit and your own charging, and you carry qualifying auto insurance or ask about coverage through Atrium’s program. Ride-tier eligibility is determined by Uber and Lyft for the specific vehicle and driver account.
What are the requirements to rent a car for Uber in Utah?
You must be 25 or older with a valid, unrestricted license held at least three years, auto insurance meeting Utah minimums (your own qualifying policy, or coverage through Atrium's program), proof of address, an active Uber or Lyft driver account with 1,000+ completed trips, and a credit card kept on file. We review your driving record before approving anyone.
Do I need my own car to drive for Uber?
No. That is the point of renting. Atrium provides the Tesla and covers its maintenance, so you can start driving without owning a qualifying vehicle.
What is the cheapest way to start driving Uber in Utah?
Renting is the lowest-commitment start: a $300 refundable deposit and a $25 application fee rather than a down payment, a loan, or repair bills. There is no long-term contract and no credit check.
Is renting a Tesla better than using my own car?
It removes maintenance costs, fuel costs and depreciation from your own vehicle. Charging runs a fraction of what fuel costs per mile, and the Model Y may qualify for higher-paying ride tiers where Uber's current requirements are met.
Which platforms can I drive for?
Uber and Lyft are approved. Delivery platforms such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart and Spark need our written approval first.
