How Much Do Uber & Lyft Drivers Make in Utah?

How much do Uber drivers make an hour in Utah?

Neither Uber nor Lyft publishes hourly earnings for Utah, and averages hide enormous variation — hours, demand, acceptance rate and ride type all move the number.

What a week in an Atrium Tesla costs

Your take-home is what Uber and Lyft pay you minus what the car costs. For a week in a Tesla Model 3 Long Range from Atrium, the main costs are:

• Weekly rental: $425, with maintenance and 5,000 miles a month, measured as 1,250 a week, included in your booking
• Charging: about $111 for a week at the 1,250-mile allowance, at our fleet's measured August 2026 charging cost of $0.089 a mile, paid by you
• Insurance: your own qualifying policy, at whatever your insurer charges

Other costs on top of rent include miles past 1,250 in a week, billed at $0.30 a mile on the Model 3 and $0.40 on the Model Y, and any tolls and citations. The full list is on the pricing page and in the rental agreement.

How long is an average Uber trip in Utah?

In our fleet, 11.3 miles. Across 9,281 Uber trips in seven Atrium Teslas in August 2026, the average trip was 11.3 miles. Lyft trips in the same cars averaged 8.6 miles, across 5,668 trips. The same cars covered 187 miles a day on average.

What does charging cost an Uber driver per mile?

About $0.089 a mile, or $16.73 a day, in our fleet. Those are the measured charging costs across seven Atrium Teslas in August 2026, which got 3.89 miles per kWh and drove 187 miles a day.

At that rate, the 1,250 miles included in each rental week cost about $111 to charge, and a 5,000-mile month about $445. Supercharging is billed to you weekly at Tesla's rates plus a 10% service fee. Our fleet's 187 miles a day works out to about 1,300 a week, a little over the 1,250-mile weekly allowance, so a week at that pace runs into the per-mile rates above. To compare a gas car, divide the price of a gallon by its miles per gallon: a 30 mpg car on $3.00 gas, for example, spends $0.10 a mile on fuel. Why the car changes the math

Two drivers working identical hours can end the week with very different costs, from fuel or charging to repairs, and the car also decides which ride types they can be offered. The charging figures above are from our fleet; the ride-tier rules are in our guide to Uber car requirements in Utah.

When to drive in Utah

Demand on the Wasatch Front peaks in a few windows: weekday airport runs to SLC, Thursday–Saturday nights downtown and around the universities, BYU and Utah game days, and ski-season weekends when out-of-state visitors surge.
